Prompt Like a Freak: A Prompt Builder for the Emotionally Literate

Overview

“Prompt Like a Freak” is an experimental microtool I built for people who want to use AI without becoming emotionally lobotomized in the process.

It’s a prompt builder for writers, creatives, educators, and anyone who’s tired of using AI tools that sound like corporate interns on Adderall. Instead of sterile inputs like “write a blog post about AI,” this builder asks you to think like a writer — and maybe even feel something.

Concept

I wanted to answer one simple question:

Can a prompt generator be expressive, weird, and intuitive — not just functional?

My goals were:

Reclaim personality in AI writing Encourage experimentation through language, not templates Build something that feels like a toy, but teaches like a tool

This is a writing tool, but it’s also a bit of a design protest. It’s built for people who are tired of being told that content needs to sound “neutral,” “professional,” or “engaging” — when what it really needs is a soul.

Features

🧠 Persona selector: Choose your narrator — a tired poet, a chaotic librarian, an existential toddler, etc.

✍️ Task picker: Standard input like “write about…” becomes a sandbox of possibilities.

🎨 Style field: Users can prompt tones like “a TED Talk by someone hungover” or “a love letter disguised as a user manual.”

💥 Chaos factor: Inject a twist — unnecessary metaphors, random plot turns, wild tone shifts — to fight template-think.

🚀 Prompt preview + Test mode: Generate structured chaos, copy your prompt, and try it live.

UX Philosophy

This wasn’t just a prompt tool — it was a UX design challenge:

Could I make something that encourages play without sacrificing clarity? Could I build a flow that’s fast, but not shallow? Could I help users unlearn boring habits?

It’s deceptively simple, intentionally lo-fi, and optimized for people who know their creativity is a strength — not a liability.

Why It Exists

Most AI tools cater to optimization. This one is built for expression.

I created Prompt Like a Freak for poets, linguists, burnt-out professors, sarcastic marketers, and all the brilliant weirdos trying to survive in a world full of polite nonsense.

This is a tool — but it’s also a love letter to language.
